An entrepreneur, a business and marketing strategist, and a mother. I am Manisha Sharma, and I started my dream project of artisanal hand-block printed luxury home linen - The Meluha Shop, after having had a successful career in the corporate sector for over twenty-five years. I worked with global brands in leadership roles across the hospitality, travel, and tourism industries. This is my story of how passion fuels success in motherhood and entrepreneurship.

After two years of searching high and low for super soft, good-looking sheets that had no chemicals and not finding the ideal bedding, I was drawn to the simplicity and beauty of hand-block printing. It appealed to my senses like none other—my inner creative being was delighted, and I took the plunge. I had to unlearn the rigidity of corporate protocols and embrace the fluidity and unpredictability of creative entrepreneurship.

The initial few months were a whirlwind of learning, understanding the nuances of hand-block printing to sourcing the finest Indian cotton materials and building a network of master artisans. The Meluha Shop’s debut collection was launched in 2023 with nature-inspired floral motifs on hand-block cotton bedsheets in Hong Kong.

The Meluha Shop’s luxury home linen is a celebration of my Indian heritage, using the finest quality, sustainable cotton fabric to create affordable and luxurious bed and table linen. Hand-block printed by master artisans of the Chippa community in Jaipur, India, our luxury home line is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and moisture-wicking, and sustainable.

Reflecting on this entrepreneurial journey its akin to stepping onto a rollercoaster of dreams with its challenges and triumphs, but at its heart is an undeniable force—my passion! With The Meluha Shop, I have found a path that resonates deeply with my creative aspirations.

Navigating this everyday business, I realize that the corporate world equipped me with a sturdy foundation. However, this entrepreneurial venture has provided wings to my creativity. The sense of fulfilment derived from creating something beautiful and impactful is unparalleled. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, driven by my passion to innovate, inspire, and connect through the fine art of hand-block printing.
